Naperville Restaurant Review

For this Naperville Restaurant Review, we take a look at a downtown favorite - Potter's Place. Good food, a nice beer garden and a real Mexican feel, are all true attributes of Potter's Place.
The food has a real Mexican taste and is moderately priced. The indoor atmosphere pleasant, yet a little tight. Outdoors, the beer garden is the largest in Naperville.

A great beer selection and outstanding Margaritas highlight the bar selection. I enjoy the burritos and enchiladas, but recently, they changed their beans - I like the old style more.

Potter's Place is located in the heart of downtown Naperville at 29 W. Jefferson. Reservations are not needed, but you can reach the friendly staff at Potter's Place at 630-355-9165 and you can email them at

For the Naperville Restaurant Review, I recommend Potter's Place - especially if you're in the mood for Mexican food and a cervaza.

The Naperville Life: Primary Elections

At last, the 2012 Illinois primaries are over. I'd like to take a moment to congratulate all of the candidates that took part in our great political process.  First, let me say that it should never be overlooked how lucky we are to live in a country that we actually get to choose our leaders. And if they don't do what we want them to, we can vote them out. Being American is special... cherish it.

All that said, I'd like to send a special congratulations to a couple of local candidates that I've developed a bit of a relationship with the past couple years. For county board, I'd like to say nice work to Tony Michelassi and John Zediker - two men that I totally admire and respect... nicely done guys, good luck in November.

For state representative, a hearty congrats to my friend Stephanie Kifowit. Unfortunately, another friend, Carol Cheney came up a bit short.

Finally, for forest preserve, I'd like to send a congratulations to an old friend, Dennis Clark.

Let it be known that I totally respect anyone and everyone that puts them self out there to face and represent the public. So for everyone who ran, helped or supported, Democrat, Republican or Independent, a sincere thank you.

What a week in Naperville

March 2012 Forecast

Usually in mid-March, life in Naperville is cold and wet. But not this year. What an unusual twist to our typical late winter life. Temperatures here have been in the 70's and 80's for about a week... and the forecast is for more of the same.

So what does that mean for those of us here in Naperville? Plenty of outdoor activities all across the city.

One of the most popular things to do here when the weather is like this is to take a stroll on the Naperville Riverwalk. What better way to celebrate the warmth than to enjoy one of Naperville's true gems. At nearly two miles of beautifully paved paths along the DuPage River, the Naperville Riverwalk is a beautiful spot to relax and reflect.
